ANDF Applying For Re-Designation

The Aireborough Neighbourhood Development Forum is a group set up in 2012 to help improve sustainable development and place making in Aireborough. In 2014 we applied to Leeds City Council to be designated as the ‘qualifying body’ to do the Aireborough Neighbourhood Plan for the Aireborough Neighbourhood Area.

This is a formal designation that all non-parished groups have to have to make sure they meet the conditions for doing a Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Localism Act 2011 and the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended). Only a Parish Council or a Designated Organization can put together a Neighbourhood Plan. There is a video on a designated Neighbourhood Forum and its work here.

Designation as a qualfying body lasts for 5 years, and then you need to be re-designated. We have now got to the time where, to finish the Neighbourhood Plan, we need to apply to Leeds City Council for Re-Designation. As part of LCCs duty of care they need to do a consultation on our application with people who live, work or carry out business in the area.

Re-designation Consultation – 16 August 2019 – 27 September 2019

Here is our application for re-designation . If you would like to make comment on it you will need to complete and send a response form which is here to Leeds City Council by 5pm on 27 September 2019.
