A new book is now launched on the history of Leeds Bradford Airport  updating the previous 2011 edition of “Yeadon Above the Rest”.  Extensively re-written with many more photographs the new book “Yeadon Above and Beyond” has been produced with the co-operation of the new owners of the airport, AMP Capital.

The new book brings the story of Aviation in the Leeds area, in particular Leeds Bradford Airport, fully up to date. Chapters include much rarely seen information on the pre-WW2 history, as well as the story of the Avro Shadow factory that constructed 700 Lancasters,  4000 Ansons, and 200 Yorks. That factory set the scene for the growth of the airfield into the major airport it is now.

The book has been self-published by the Author as “Air Supply Publishing”.  All copies are in a high quality paperback format.  Available from the Author from week commencing 22 January 2019 as well as from selected retail outlets in the North Leeds and Bradford areas.
