ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

Aireborough was born in 1937 when the townships from the Old Parish of Guiseley came together to form a new Urban District Council, “to wipe out old jealousies”, and concentrate more readily on the problems ahead, working together as a team”. (YEP 2 December 1936)

The Aireborough Neighbourhood Development Forum was founded in 2012, and takes the same ethos as in 1937, for the purposes of helping to make Aireborough a thriving place once again. In 2014 the Forum received designated Neighbourhood Forum status (under the Localism Act 2011) from Leeds City Council to enable it to draw up a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the area.

Anyone is welcome to become a member of the Forum if they live, work or do business in Aireborough – see our  constitution, membership and contact details. We welcome help at all levels from delivery leaflets, contributing to workshops, to running a project on an idea you have.

The Forum is a voluntary organization and raises its own funds to achieve objectives; donations, support and sponsorship are key resources. Therefore, everyone who contributes to objectives is much appreciated. .

If the Forum can help you to understand more about local development, support your group or company with exploring neighbourhood planning issues, or provide relevant information, please contact us. We work closely with local representatives at both a local and national level. You can keep updated with all Aireborough Development Issues and Events by signing up to our website, Facebook page (Aireborough Voice) or Twitter Account @AireboroughV.
