About 25 very engaged members attended our first members AGM, making it a very successful meeting. Many questions were asked, comments raised and ideas put forward. It was in fact an important milestone, one which had to be achieved as quickly as possible as, now we have an official board, have the Vision ratified and the accounts approved, we are officially on our way to producing the Neighbourhood Plan. As our chairlady mentioned in her presentation , time is of the essence here and we need to organise ourselves to get it in place as soon as possible.
From the exchange of ideas and thoughts, we know that our membership is committed to making Aireborough as good a place to live and work as we can possibly make it. As one of our members pointed out, Aireborough has a lot of untapped opportunities.
We asked for volunteers to help the topic group leaders in their research and were heartened by the response, however, the more help we can muster the easier the task will be. If you think you have a skill, local knowledge base or could help with media distribution then become a member and get involved. More information can be found in the minutes 1st AGM minutes, ANF Accounts and AGM Presentation.
The AGM business was followed by tea and wonderful cakes from Joanne Adams of ‘Sweet Sins’, enjoyed by all.
The next Members AGM will be in spring 2015. There will be a range of public engagement activities over the coming months, starting with a presentation from Pennine Prospects on the South Pennines Area, of which Aireborough, along with Ilkley is the most northerly outpost.
