The initial research done in the summer has shown the following areas are of most concern to people in Aireborough.

• Traffic and Transport – including A65 congestion, overcrowded trains, and parking
• Threat to the Character of the Area – particularly the loss of green space from development
• Increasing Isolation of Areas, Lack of Centres, and Declining Community Spirit
• Deterioration of Community Facilities – eg Aireborough Leisure Centre, and particularly for the young
• Unattractive Urban Development
• Overcrowded Services – eg doctors and dentists
• Decline in Jobs and Industry – depleting the local economy
• Dying High Streets
• Slight Rise in Fear and Anxiety – from low-level anti-social behaviour
