Important Annual General Meeting

The ANDF Annual General Meeting 2024  will be held on Tuesday 2nd July, 7.30pm. Fellowship Room, Guiseley Methodist Church, Oxford Road, Guiseley. We will be discussing what has been achieved since we won the Green Belt Judicial Review in August 2020, and what the future holds for the Aireborough. Agenda here.

In January 2024 the Planning Inspectorate finally confirmed that Aireborough’s Green Belt sites should be removed from the 2019 Leeds Site Allocation Plan (SAP).  However, Leeds City Council’s Local Plan is in the process of changing again; Aireborough will again be affected by this.

  • Secondly, LCC are again reviewing the Green Belt and potential development sites for a new Local Plan 2040.
  • Firstly, new planning policies are being introduced to deal with LCCs climate emergency strategy.

IT IS THEREFORE TIME TO ELECT A NEW ANDF STEERING COMMITTEE FOR THESE COMING CHALLENGES

The present Steering Committee will be standing down, as required by the ANDF constitution. They are also of the view that it is time to hand over to new blood and will not be standing for re-election: although they will act in advisory roles if needed.  Thus seven new committee members are required.

Nominations are invited in advance of the meeting to prepare the elections.  Please be advised that only members can nominate, second and vote for nominees. A nomination form is here.  If you’d like to become a Forum member, forms can be obtained from Mrs E Kirkpatrick, contact details: aireboroughnp@gmail.com or phone 01943875640 and leave a message if no one answers.

We hope to welcome to the AGM all those who have been involved in the Forum’s work to date as well as anyone who is interested in shaping Aireborough’s future. The current steering committee would like to thank all those who have participated either through funding or past projects and consultations.

Below, pictures of just some of the work we’ve been involved in.
