The facilities of Guiseley School are tired and outdated. You are invited to a drop-in event to view proposals for rebuilding it on 6th September, between 4-7pm at the school.
It is proposed to demolish the main school building and replace with
- a new general teaching block,
- build a new sports and arts block,
- relocate the current hard play area
- reconfigure and enlarge the existing parking area
This is part of the Government’s £4.4bn Priority School Building Programme and organized by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The work is being overseen by Guiseley School and the ESFA and they have asked Galliford Try a national contractor with experience in school buildings to do the work.
Galliford Try are running both an in-house and public consultation on the project tomorrow 6th September 2018 in order to share ideas and gain input to a planning application . The company realise the importance of this project to the community and that community use is part of the requirements. The programme will have an emphasis on quality and innovation.
You will be able to look at planning proposals and meet the team responsible for the work. If you have any specific questions to ask either before or after the event they have asked that you email them to guiseleyschool@gva.co.uk. Or you can hand in written comments direct to the School reception. That does not stop you asking them on the day.
There will be a drop-in for staff, pupils and their parents on 6th September between 3-4pm.
