The area around Guiseley Wells and St Oswald’s church is one of the most ancient areas in Guiseley – hard to imagine what it must have been like with the springs pouring out of the rocky hillside, and a flat area of Ings and becks around leading to the deep Ghyll where Guiseley Beck pours down to the Aire through Springs Wood.
Guiseley Wells were improved at the Millenium by Geoff Brooks and his team, who raised the money and did the work – and great thanks go to them.
However, many people would like to see this area improved still further with maybe a pocket park around it making it a small feature area.
With that in mind we have teamed up over Easter with Codswallop, Incredible Edible Aireborough, and Leeds Capital of Culture team, to gather ideas on what the area could be used for, which would then influence its design.
So, come along over the Easter weekend to have a look at the temporary Pocket Park that has been put up there, and feed in some ideas on what you would like to see.
