Friday 13th and Saturday 21st February
Bookable on aireboroughnp@gmail.com
Not all our events involve sitting in Guiseley Theatre. What better way to find out about the history of an area than to be led by a knowledgeable local historian.
We have walks in three heritage areas. You will be able to appreciate their story and how their distinctiveness can be conserved. Don’t forget your camera to take pictures of what you do and do not like in the areas, to use for thinking about what makes a heritage area, and what detracts from it! We would appreciate you sending us a copy of your photographs after the event – to aireboroughnp@gmail.com
13th Feb – all at 2pm
Nether Yeadon, led by Andy Graham, Leeds City Council Conservation Officer,
High Royds, led by Tom Booth, who has known the hospital for many years
Old Guiseley, led by Alec Denton, ANDF
21st Feb – different times to advertised
9.30 am Nether Yeadon, led by Nigel Wilson of Nether Yeadon Conservation Group
10.30am High Royds, led by Clive Woods, Aireborough Civic Society
We would like to thank all our guides for their time.
Although there is no charge for this event it is bookable and we will give you details of times on booking – we will also have emails and contact details should the walk be cancelled for inclement weather. Please do note that many parts of High Royds are still a building site, and Nether Yeadon is quite rural, so stout footwear is essential – maybe so in Guiseley as well !!
There will also be a talk on the proposed Nether Yeadon Conservation area on the evening of Monday 16th February at St John Church Hall, Yeadon.
