We can help you lose those extra Christmas pounds and beat the January blues.

What could be better after the Christmas splurge to get out and do some walking in the fresh air. And while you are doing this even better if you have another purpose; to help map and save Aireborough’s green spaces, snickleways, ginnels and footpaths.

The Aireborough Neighbourhood Development Forum needs volunteers to help us with two crucial evidence gathering tasks:

  • An audit of green spaces and footpaths
  • A leaflet drop to publicise an Aireborough Festival to be held in February.

You won’t need any special skills or knowledge to help with the audit, just fill in a tick list and perhaps take a photo. You could survey an area you know which is close to your home or explore somewhere new.  We have a skilled team who will collate all your work, led by a green space specialist.

For the leaflet drop we will need an army of volunteers to cover all of Aireborough’s households to deliver information on the Festival and then later in the year information on the Neighbourhood Plan

Now the Leeds Planning Strategy has given the green light to the building of 2,300 new homes in the area it is important that we get our Neighbourhood  Plan in place so that we are ready to ensure any prospective development in Aireborough is well thought out and sensitive to the needs of our community.

You can help us by volunteering to assist in either of these projects and get some exercise into the bargain!

Please contact us at aireboroughnp@gmail.com  if you are able to spare some time in the new year for these two simple tasks.
