We appreciate that people are finding the current Local Plan consultation overwhelming. A response from the public needs to be in by Monday 15th September.

We are therefore publishing the response from ANDF members which may help. This is only on the Green Belt sites for Guiseley, Yeadon Banks, and Nether Yeadon.

One of the key issues with the Local Plan we also highlight is the method of reaching housing targets – the standard method. Although this is called housing need, it is noting if the kind, it is a housing target, based on housing stock and affordability calculations. The new method of calculating the housing target, plus the introduction of Grey Belt is going to cause havoc in sustainable planning as this House of Commons debate from May 2025 outlines. This is the problem that is coming down the track to Leeds with the Local Plan.
